Yes To Carrots Girls Night In and Giveaway!!

Yes to Carrots has hooked me up again! Last Friday night I kicked Jeremy and Jackson out of the house for a few hours and I held a Yes to Carrots girls night in at my house. I invited several friends and family and we had such a good time! YTC sent a box filled with goodies and snacks for the girls to try including Pop Chips, Melody Gardot cd’s, and YTC Mud Masks and Pampering Hand Spa. We had a great time pampering ourselves and just enjoying hanging out!

I decided to go all Martha Stewart and make Carrot Cupcakes with homemade cream cheese icing in honor of YTC and they were delicious! In going with an “orange” theme, I also served cheese dip, orange slices, orange kool-aid, and served a veggie tray including carrot sticks (of course!). YTC also sent me a very snazzy “Carrot Lover” apron that I adore, but the only picture of me in it was courtesy of my sister who snapped a shot of my hiney. I decided against putting that picture online!

We decided to watch a movie and the top 2 choices were between Steel Magnolias (an absolute favorite of Southern girls) or Twilight (also a great movie). It was really close, but we ended up watching Steel Magnolias and we spent most of the movie quoting our favorite scenes.

And Miranda's baby James joined us!

We had such a good time and I have decided to spread the YTC love once again and have another YTC surprise giveaway!! All you have to do to win is to leave me a comment with your favorite “Girls Night In” movie and your favorite quote from the movie. It’s that simple! You can also get another chance to win by becoming a follower of this blog, and following my other blog. Just leave separate comments for each entry. So that’s 3 chances to win per person!

For the record, you don't have to have a blog to win as long as I have an email address to get in touch with you, and the only catch is that you must be living in the United States to win.

The contest will end at 12:00 midnight on September 15th. Good luck and get busy quoting those movies!

  1. Amy Alexander and I were talking about this last night! One of our favorite "girl's night in" movies is "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and the same quote: "You just let the men think it was THEIR idea!"

Not that I ever win anything anyway :)

  2. Okay on "Sweet Home Alabama" I love it when Melanie says, " You have a baby.....IN a Bar!" and "Raising Arizona" is not really a girls night in movie but I think it is hilarious when the Nicolas Cage character steals diapers with panty hose covering his head and the old man drives up in a truck and says, "Son, you got a panty on your head!." And I did not put 2 just so I might could get brownie points and be added twice. No, not me. ; )

Cheesy Girl Movie that makes me swoon: The Notebook

"So it's not gonna be easy. It's gonna be really hard. We're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, for ever, you and me, every day." - Young Noah to Young Allie.

  4. Girl Movie #2: Twilight (oh how I could watch this over and over).

Edward: And so the lion fell in love with the lamb.
    Isabella: What a stupid lamb.
Edward: What a sick, masochistic lion.

  5. Girl Movie #3: You've Got Mail

Joe Fox: "Don't cry Shop Girl. Don't cry."

  6. One of my many favorite girl movies is Runaway Bride...when she gets on the FedEx truck when running from the wedding:

"Where do you think she's going?"
"I don't know. But she'll be there by 10 tomorrow morning!"

    Cracks me up every time!

  7. Well, I'm nuts over "Steel Magnolias," too! I will go a different way, though...

I love "Forrest Gump!" My favorite line in the movie is "You know it's funny what a young man recollects? 'Cause I don't remember bein' born. I don't recall what I got for my first Christmas and I don't know when I went on my first outdoor picnic. But I do remember the first time I heard the sweetest voice in the wide world."

    I cry every time I watch it. : )
